Because most of the people here have smoked a weed called CIR and are halucinating. This bill is digging our grave, people wake up and stop day dreaming, please start opposing this bill no cir period.
I am not sure why we are still behind this bill and wasting our money and resources,
everyone here needs to realize we don't need to sweeping legislative reform to address our concern, all we need few guidelines to impliment current law in more sensible way,

I still like the idea of the "Gandhi" character. 10 IV members could dress like Gandhi, practice some coordinate steps and go for a parate on July 4th. That would be a pacific way to demonstrate our frustration.
We just need to find 10 skinny, bald and friendly Indian male members. I am afraid that based on how this process has depressed our community, there are a number of us with the two former qualitities required.
I don't think you should solicit members on the forum without fully letting us know the overall tone and message of your film. Where will the film be distributed and how it will be used? Who is funding your film? Get in touch with Immigration voice organization so that they can help you and let the forum members know if we should help you and if you will convey the right message for us through your film.

hang in there buddy, as others have already suggested just wait for the notice and file MTR. tough 10-15 days but after all this is over you will forget about it. I was in a similar state when I got a RFE on 140.

Just received email from CRIS regarding I-485 denial notice for both me and my wife.
I used AC21 after 9 months of filing I-485. My I-140 was approved before even filing I-485 in July fiasco.
My attorney promptly sent AC-21 and G-28 and i did see LUD on my and my wife's I-485 after that.
My previous company informed me sometime ago that they are going to revoke I-140 and probably they did and i am assuming that's what triggered this.
This is certainly a big damm mistake they did even after sending AC-21 docs and G-28.

I did not attend as I was not in a position to take 2-3 days off from work during Sep18th, too much work load, need to fly from CA, additional expenses, etc. ..But I'll definitely attend if the next rally happens in the Bay area or close by.

Got H 1 transfered to new company and G 28 in August 08
Applied Ac 21 in August 08
EAD and AP renewals received yesterday.
All done well after 180 days of 140.
Could not contact old employer today - will do tomorrow.
Thinking of taking info pass interview next week if I dont receive any thing by then.
Informed to attorney by mail today. As I receivied deniel email late in the evening could not contact any one today.
Hopefully all will end well with God s grace.

I have been laid off yesterday. My employment ends Dec.
My 180 days expire Jan. My company said they will not revoke the I-140.
So can anyone explain the steps that needs to be taken by company B after they transfer my h1, for time period Dec thru Jan.

Keep in mind, that no matter what, you will not be able to work before Oct 1.

Every time it hit Nov 2001, the dates were made unavailable and the cycle started again from early 2001.
I wonder what is going to happen next month??
I think the cycles will stop now... you should see a steady forward progress during the first 3 quarters & a jump (minor or major depends on spillover) in last quarter...

My opinion even if CIR is dead this year, as long as Kennedy is alive they will come back in 2009 with similar immigration bill with no benefits for eb visas and the whole story will repeat we will have ours fingers crossed and IV will try their best to tweak in some amendments and again it will die for the same reasons, as they are not going accept any amendments until grand immigration bill we will wait for next CIR and we go into infinite loop.
may time will pass and 10-15 years like this and we all will get current some time and eventually get visas.
I think it is better if we get over with it either good or bad at least we can come out of limbo.

See if you can post a flyer in the Ann Arbor Indian foods store (Foods of India) near the medical capus. The one in Canton (forgot the name-- the one where they sell bhel) is also a hot spot for folks working around Ann-Arbor/Detroit areas. There is one more Indian store on Packard further up north (in Ann Arbor) Owner is a VERY FRIENDLY guy and very well connected (his connections helped in selling my car, find a subletter...!). He's alway open to flyers and such.
I have spread the word to some I know in MI, hopefully they'll respond. Good luck!
