...welcome to the new nightmare, someone did say something about the grass been green on the other side..now that we are on the other side we wait for 485 to be current while we renew EAD/AP each year, fingerprint every 15 months and aviod the namecheck black hole...maybe this is what they(uscis) wanted after all...a steady income stream...good luck :)

POTUS has openly declared "no appetite for CIR"...
So, I guess, all we can do is eat the kela that has once again been given to us...
Those comments were made by the President before the Senate Democrats press event. In fact one reporter asked Sen. Reid about the President's comments. It is not possible the Senate democrats do immigration press event on the Hill without the concurrence of the President.
We think that the President is trying to make his sincere push for the reform which requires a bi-partisan support. He did not say that he is taking immigration off the agenda. So this article is misinterpreting the comments of the President.

People who are on H4 ITIN couples, should seriously consider discrimination based litigation. I am fully sympathetic to their situation. Not long ago I was in the same boat. Make it harder for the government to make dimes on your money. They wont make it harder for you then.

Unfortunately, there isn't a fast lane for nurses. If your PD is April 31, 2007, my advise to you is to monitor the monthly Visa Bulletin and once your PD becomes current, you will know that it is just a few months ahead. For now, with the current turn of events, without the fast lane for nurses, you are looking at two years of waiting.

Thanks sy. I fully agree it's the agent we deal with. My BOA loan coordinator is extremely stubborn & doesn't have any clue regarding immigration. From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. You have to consider the scenario where both spouses have LC pending in PERM and BEC- and only one may have applied for 485. I'm just hoping people who have bought the LCs and tuned their work experience to suit available LC would be scrutinized strictly and would stay in I-140 stage longer.
Out of the 144k perm, FEW have 2 labors (1 in eb3 and another in eb2). Also many have labors in BEC as well as PERM (THIS IS QUITE A LOT). So the total real applicants combined from BEC and PERM could be around 200k. Not all the dependants (kids) need EAD. Not all the primary applicants apply for EAD. The total approximate EAD applicants could be 350K.
ALSO, ONE THING YOU HAVEN'T CONSIDERED...As the priority dates are unavailable until october and the expected slow movement of the 2008 bullettins(because they have the count of pending applicants now), there will be only very few EAD applicants in next few months. How ever, all these applicants will re-apply every year...they they can expect this same load until they provide a relief to issue visas to everybody.

the numbers may be exaggerated, but it doesnot change the facts..
even if we agree that its going to be 500k with 15-20% of them being indians, we still have a long wait ahead of us.
Rather than fighting among ourselves, we should channel our frustration/anger towards the fight for :
adding back unused visa numbers,
increase in GC numbers.
We can express our support to Senator Lofgren or whoever is leading this effort.
While we enjoy the interim benefits, our fight for permanent solution should not be obscured by it.

I also received RFE for my application. I am EB3-India with PD of Oct 2003. The RFE was about missing signatures on 2 forms (though I could see my signature there; I just re-signed those) and missing I-94s.

bpratap, faced similar issue since they don't understand. Even if they do they are worried it may cause trouble when they sell the loan to some one else.
I have refinanced with Penfed and they don't have this requirement. It helps to put 20% down payment as some banks waive this 3 year rule with that.
Can you post the name of the bank so others don't waste time and money with those banks.
